I am a Pasadena native, born in the Huntington Hospital. I first heard about divorce mediation in the late 1970s and decided to enroll in law school so that I could become a family mediator. I wanted to help families avoid the drama and grief that my siblings and I experienced when our parents went to trial in one of the last years of fault-based divorce trials in California. In law school, I got side-tracked onto a more conventional legal career path for 13 years, burned out, returned to California and taught English in public schools for 20 years. My varied life experiences and nearly 30 years of participation in spiritual discernment have equipped me to listen with my heart as well as my ears. In 2006, while meditating, I heard the call to “meditation AND mediation.” I have been offering family mediation in Pasadena since 2006, part-time at first while I was teaching, and full-time since June 1, 2017. I am a “Certified Advanced Practitioner” with the Academy of Professional Family Mediators, and a Certified Senior Mediator and Certified Online Family Mediator with Mediate.com.

I was lucky enough to have a broad range of experiences as an attorney. In southern Oregon, I worked for four years with private law firms in southern Oregon and had a six-year stint as Assistant County Counsel in Jackson County (Medford) Oregon. In California, I focus exclusively on mediation; I am not a member of the California bar. If you need a referral to a California lawyer, I am happy provide referrals for my clients.
